Autumn Prairie Star Revisited

Guess what I found in exploring the EQ7 manual?
A section called Exporting Images which told me how to do this!

Nancy's Autumn Prairie Star

My October challenge is complete, using six fabrics from the fall collection. I enlarged the Prairie Star block, added borders & applique motifs to make a small wall quilt 45x45. If I knew how to attach an image, you could see it.

October Challenge

The October Challenge was posted today!  Check it out:  http://www.electricquilt.com/Users/FunStuff/ClubEQ/ClubEQ.asp

Looks like an easy one and it gives you some practice importing fabric libraries--something we were talking about during our last meeting. :-)

Midnight Sun Quilters/Club EQ

Thanks Kim for your get-well wishes. Workin' on it. Be glad I missed the last meeting. This bug is making the rounds like an inter-galactic rocket.

"Midnight Sun" Quilters! Wonderful name! In the beginning of this dark season midnight sun conjures images of bright orange sunsets, flowing blue and turquoise rivers, bright, huge blossoms of every color, the sun shining through many different greens on the trees and shrubs, plump red berries. And, we can't forget the luscious salmon color of our fish. Yes! The inspiration for another quilt. So logging off from here and booting up EQ. Go forth and design!

EQ7 Lesson Problems

Nancy
I did this and now I can open up lessons from my Docs as I need them or print it out. This was sent to me from tech support.

Unfortunately, the problem is caused for all programs with PDFs ending in .chm when the computer has the newest Microsoft IE9 software. This issue has only been visible since the IE9 has been in the recommended Windows Updates. The problem has been reported to Microsoft (by other software companies), but has not yet been fixed.

The solution is to delete IE9 software. But here's an easy workaround, as well: You can print the PDFs from outside EQ7.

The lessons are on the CD. Put your EQ7 CD in, click START > (My) Computer > right-click your CD (DVD) drive > click Open. You'll see an EQ Lessons folder. Open that and try to print from there. Does this work?

If it does, you can copy the EQ Lessons folder from the CD and paste it onto Desktop, or in My Documents, so you can easily find and print from there.

News!

This is my first "real" post!  I figured I should pass on some news:

1.  Welcome to Ree to the club.  She finally managed to install EQ7 on her computer, so the next step is getting her to show up to the meetings. LOL

2.  Three folks sent in submissions for the September challenge.  They are up on the website, so take a look: http://www.electricquilt.com/Albums/11/1109/1109p1.asp

3.  Nancy was commenting on the PDF lesson problem during our last meeting.  I looked up some info on the website--it looks like it's a Microsoft problem, not an EQ problem.  Other software is having the same issue when used with Internet Explorer 9.  Here's a description/status:  http://support.electricquilt.com/Lessons-wont-display-EQ7.ashx

4.  As of today, the October challenge is still not available.  I haven't heard when it will be posted.  I did some sleuthing and I think I've read between the lines regarding Barb.  She posted a memorial quilt design for her husband (quilt 23) and when I re-read the challenge and her description of the quilt, I realized that they referred to him in the past tense.  I am guessing that she recently lost her husband, so she is going through a tough time right now.

5.  Get well soon to Marna--she's not feeling well and we missed her during club time.
It was exciting to see our blocks and quilts on the EQClub site. I am glad we have this. It will make it easier to stay in touch while I am outside this winter.

Welcome!

We did it!  We have a blog and I have invited everyone in the club to post.  Hopefully this will be an easy way to keep in touch between meetings.

If you're not part of the original members of the Midnight Sun Quilters/ClubEQ, drop me a line at quilting.gnome@gmail.com if you want to join.  We meet on the first Saturday of the month at Sylvia's Quilt Depot at 11:30 am.
